The Kiwanis Club of Lima has an awesome relationship with the Lima City School System represented by the Key Club of Lima Senior High School, the Builders Clubs of North and West Middle Schools, the Builders Clubs of South and Liberty Magnets and the K-Kids Clubs of Independence, Heritage, Unity and Freedom Elementary Schools.
During a normal year, they would have approximately 275 members among the aforementioned. With all that’s going on, they have about 125 members.
Each of the clubs is unique in its service to their respective schools and communities. Crystal Miller, the K-Kids Faculty Advisor at Heritage Elementary School, thought it would be a good idea to make shirts available for all student members and advisors to show unity in the Lima Spartan and Kiwanis families. Crystal also designed the shirts.
With respect to faculty advisors, they are dedicated to instilling into the student members the concept of servant leadership.
For 2019-2020, six of the clubs met the requirements of Kiwanis International to be distinguished clubs, one being an honor club.
They also had eight distinguished faculty advisors, one distinguished Kiwanis advisor and three distinguished club officers.
Pictured are members and faculty advisors of several of the clubs wearing their Spartan/Kiwanis Family shirts.
