  • Nick’s Worldwide Day of Play 2012

    Are you ready to play?

Get ready, get set, get kids active! Team up with Nickelodeon for its 9th annual Worldwide Day of Play as it encourages kids to turn off their TVs and video games and enjoy physical activities.

Worldwide Day of Play is coming up on October 6, but it’s not too late to host an event! Your club can pick any fun, physical activity that you enjoy doing—dancing, playing Frisbee, hula-hooping, swimming, or roller skating to name a few—and create your own Worldwide Day of Play event. Invite other Kiwanis-family members, neighbors and students from schools in your area to participate.

Need more ideas? Check out pro-social.nick.com for tips. And while you’re online, don’t forget to register your event online for a chance to see your group’s name on TV!

  • First-ever Kiwanis International Day at the White House

"Every day, members of the Kiwanis family serve their communities. On Friday, September 21, fourteen of them will be recognized as Champions of Change during the first-ever Kiwanis International Day at the White House. (A Kiwanian from Indiana, William Beard, Kiwanis Club of Frankfort, is one who will be recognized for his dedication to his local community.)

The Champions of Change program was created to honor ordinary Americans doing extraordinary work in their communities. The Kiwanis Champions of Change represent the entire Kiwanis family—from Kiwanis Kids to Circle K International to Aktion Club to Kiwanis. They will be honored for their service to their local and global communities.

Even though you may not be in Washington, D.C., you can still participate in Kiwanis Day at the White House. Watch the events live and learn more at www.WhiteHouse.gov/live. Live stream events include the Champions of Change event at 12:45 p.m. EDT on Friday, September 21. People around the country can join the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #WHKiwanis."
