When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream and succeed, great things happen! Not only will the students you work with benefit, but your Kiwanis club will thrive as a result of participating in a program that energizes club members. Your club also will have an opportunity to develop a presence within the community and the school.
Start a Bring Up Grades program.
The BUG Sponsorship Toolkit will guide you through the process of establishing a Bring Up Grades program at a school or community center. Review resources where you’ll find information about the program, marketing the program, educating parents, students and volunteers and more.
Include the Kiwanis family
If your club is interested in starting a program but needs additional support, consider utilizing Key Club and Circle K members. Elementary students look up to high school and college students. You’re also offering an opportunity for Key Club and Circle K members to sharpen their servant leadership skills. Here are ways Key Club and Circle K can provide more support, making programming even more meaningful.

Reach out to the community
Consider starting a Bring Up Grades program in a Boys and Girls Club, community center or library. You may have better outreach as a result of helping students and parents who need the most assistance. The Bring Up Grades program works beautifully with the Boys and Girls Club’s Power Hour, a comprehensive homework help and tutoring program.
Triple your impact
If the club can provide support for all three Kiwanis Kids programs--K-Kids, Terrific Kids and Bring Up Grades--go for it! Just think how successful students graduating from this elementary school will be. When starting a venture like this, consider working with Key Club and Circle K as co-sponsors to provide the best possible support. Or consider co-sponsoring with another Kiwanis club or several clubs within your Kiwanis division.
